I'm trying to build a bankroll from $10. I simply suck at cash, so that is out of the question. I discovered the $1.15 DoN and have been winning at a consistent rate of 70%. My problem is the moving up. The next level is $5.40, which my measely bankroll can't withstand, but I don't know how much longer I can be entertained playing for peanuts. Is playing these DoN's a viable strategy? What other games are good for my bankroll? How much should I have before I move up to $5.40 DoN?

DON's are fine money makers. But i have to tell you, 70% is just above the break even point. They are taking 15% in rake so at 70% your making $2.50 every 10 games.

even at 5.40 ull only be making $16.00 every 10 games.

Most of the guys making good money at these are doing 80-85% and multitabling.
Are you able to play 3 or 4 at a time? If not id stay where u are and try adding tables and getting that winrate up a little too. If u could get 4 tables at a time and a 75% winrate then id think about moving up.....

Some other games u may want to try are the 18 and 45 man SNG's....very good bankroll builders and they play a lot like the dbl or nuttins ....

This is utter nonsense. Even 70% probably cannot be sustained in the long run, not even at the 1.15s. At the next limits, 60% is already a great result and almost impossible to achieve at $20+.

As to bankroll management, some people think 20 buy-ins is fine at the lower limits but I believe this to be very risky. Even the non-turbo DoNs should, imo, not be played with less than 30-40 buy-ins, so I'd say to play the 5.40s one should have a bankroll of $150-200.

I do agree with PPP that if you don't do it already then you should try to multitable. But by "multitable" I don't mean just four tables. Most regulars play 10-30 tables (I play 15 in sets myself). It's the only way to achieve a decent hourly at the DoNs and relatively easy to do because if you play them correctly you will fold most hands anyway.

Sure your talking about DBL or Nothing SNG's? Your stats sound more like regular 3 pay SNG's...

Absolutely. I have played almost 7000 $5.20 turbo DoNs with a winrate of about 56% and I believe that I am one of the better regulars (though by no means among the best) at this limit. I don't know any players who have won >60% over a significant sample size. The winrate might be a little higher at the non-turbo DoNs but even there I'm convinced 65% is impossible in the long run.

How is it possible to play 15 tables at a time??

At DoNs it's best to fold almost all hands in the early stages and then play push-or-fold in the later stages, so you don't play many hands and rarely have to play post-flop. This makes for a lot of quick and eeasy decisions.
Of course, if you play just a few tables it's much more easy to collect reads and watch the table dynamics, resulting in somewhat better results, but with DoNs quantity is usually more profitable than quality.

Thanks for the replies guys. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't wasting my time with better options available. I find PS to be convoluted. As for the tables, I play 3 tables at a time. I feel overwhelmed with more. Also, I personally like to take advantage of the donks early. More often than not I'm able to get to around 2200 around 15 min in and then I can simply sit back.
